About the Journal
Esculapio-Journal of Services Institute of Medical Sciences, is an open access and peer reviewed medical journal from Pakistan, founded in 2005 and since then, it is being published regularly on quarterly basis. It is an official journal of Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Lahore and publishing quality medical research.

“Esculapio” is derived from Asclepius. It represented the healing aspect of the medical arts. The rod of Asclepius, a snake-entwined staff, remains a symbol of medicine today.Esculapio-Journal of Services Institute of Medical Sciences, this Is founded in 2005.It has an open access and peer reviewed medical journal that is indexed & registered with more than 40 world's leading indexing organizations. The journal covers a range of current topics in medical education and clinical research. It covers the core biomedical health science subjects including basic medical sciences and emerging community problems, prepared in accordance with the ” Uniform requirements for submission to bio-medical journals” laid down by International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
Esculapio follows an open access policy. The final version of article is available on the Esculapio website which can be accessed by anyone freely and permanently without any subscription fee. Authors pay “article processing charges” for publishing their articles which are accepted after double blind peer review. More then 350 copies are distributed to different public and private institutions nationwide. Esculapio follows a strict policy regarding research misconduct which includes data falsification, fabrication and plagiarism.All authors are required to adhere to high principles of research conduct as per “COPE” and “ICMJE” guidelines.The submitted manuscript is checked for the plagiarism before starting the review process by the Esculapio office using anti-plagiarism software “Turnitin”.If the article has more than 19% simmilarity than it is returned to author for correction.
Authors rights :The purpose of “Esculapio” is to disseminate scientific research, so once the article is submitted the journal requires following rights from the author as a publishing agreement.The author transfers the copyright and publishing rights to “Esculapio” but retains his rights to share, disseminate and maximize the impact of their research without any restrictions.
Institutional rights:The article can be used for any type of teaching and training.Electronic and physical copies can be distributed for teaching and training purposes.Articles can be used for grant writing purpose.
